Speeding up the app and new features!

The Dexfolio app is currently undergoing review by Google and Apple in preparation for the app’s release on the Play Store and Appstore. While the app is in review we can’t release any updates. Although we’re no longer releasing beta updates, the team has not slowed down on the development of the app.

We want to share with you the progress we’ve made!

Speeding Up the App

Our primary focus right now is speeding up the app! At the start of beta, the app data loaded at a good speed. However, as we added more portfolio data to the app, the app has slowed down considerably.

We are going to make sure the app loads fast before we fully release it.

Here’s how we’re doing it

• We’ve brought on a new technical lead to manage the backend optimization.
• We’re in the process of making the app listen to the database in real time so that users no longer need to refresh to update data.
• We’re working on an asynchronous update of tokens value in the backend to reduce the loading time of the app.

New Features

We’ve started putting time towards building out new features in the app! First step is to estimate the effort to develop each feature and then plan out the implementation.

Here are some of the features our team has finished researching:

• Show change for each token as a chart
• Show change in portfolio value as a chart
• Change base currency of portfolio to another fiat currency that covalent supports (CAD, INR, ETH, and EUR)
• Change base currency of portfolio to a cryptocurrency
• Add a light color theme into the app
• Change app language

Here are features will plan to estimate this week

• LP token tracking
• NFT tracking
• Show wallet transactions history
• Allow users to change time frame of portfolio

Quality of Life Changes and Bug Fixes

• A loader has been added to the “Terms of Use” screen.
• Changes made to the calculation of the average cost to provide more accurate figures.
• Tokens from multiple wallets are now sorted correctly in descending order based on token value.
• The “Grey box” covering some users’ portfolios has been fixed.
• Tokens that aren’t listed on CoinGecko will now be visible in the portfolio.
• Percentage change and average entry cost will now show on most tokens that were purchased on a DEX.
• A bug that was preventing some users from receiving notifications after the app was reinstalled has been resolved.
• Fixed a bug that was causing an incorrect price and cost to be shown for small tokens.
